My opinions: With this pack I think beta 1.7.3 is the most stable, complete, and greatest version minus tall grass, especially with a few tweaks/fixes that I listed above. Also, if you put the Alpha pack on and change your settings it really just feels like you are playing Alpha, but with some new cool features.
